Christopher D. Cooper, M.D.

Christopher D. Cooper, M.D. is a third generation Floridian, who joined IDC in 2004. He obtained his B.S. in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry and Anthropology at the University of Gainesville. He trained for Internal Medicine and completed his Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa.

Dr. Cooper is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. He is also practices Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Cooper was named a 2006 Distinguished Physician by the Florida Medical Association and has earned awards from Tampa General Hospital and the Infectious Disease Society.

Dr. Cooper participated in various research projects with the USF Research Unit and the Hillsborough County Health Department, in Tampa, FL. He is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the Florida Infectious Disease Society, and the Florida Medical Association.
